After reports of protest planned Section 144 imposed in Guwahati

Assam: The District Commissionerate of Police, Guwahati, Assam has issued prohibitory orders under Section 144 to ensure peace and harmony in and around the jurisdiction of the Police Commissionerate to prevent any untoward situation which may lead to Law and order will be disturbed.
In a notice issued by the office of Police Commissioner Guwahati, Assam said, “Whereas I have come to know that certain and unspecified persons or groups of persons or organizations are likely to disrupt the normal functioning of the offices. – flow of public and traffic in any part of the jurisdiction of Police Commissionerate, Guwahati and it is known that such persons or organizations/associations plan to carry out agitation/demonstration/sloganing in any part of Police Commissionerate, Guwahati. may cause breach of public peace and order and may disturb the peaceful movement of people, traffic and normal activities of local residents and functioning of offices in the said area.
The notice further elaborated on the imposition of prohibitory orders under Section 144 which reads, “And whereas peaceful movement of public, traffic and normal activities of local residents and functioning of offices in the said area It is important to take precautions to ensure that.”
Under the prohibited measures, gathering of more than 5 persons and taking out processions and shouting slogans is the entire Police Commissionerate, Guwahati, which covers three police districts of the Police Commissionerate of Police.
