After petrol bomb attacks in Shillong, Dy CM calls for peace talks
Shillong: Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, has urged for an end to recent violence and called for discussions to address underlying issues.
The NPP-led MDA government made this statement following a series of petrol bomb attacks in Shillong.
“Creating disturbances will not solve problems,” stated Tynsong, who also holds the Home portfolio.
He added, “We appeal to people not to resort to violence. We are ready to meet with any disgruntled groups or individuals to discuss their concerns.”
The Deputy Chief Minister said that investigations were ongoing into the recent attacks.
“We have instructed the Director General of Police to investigate these incidents thoroughly. We will find the culprits,” he asserted.
He stated, “Throwing stones or petrol bombs won’t achieve anything. We urge all citizens to maintain peace and avoid taking the law into their own hands.”
