
Acting on a tip, Meghalaya police seized Heroin worth of 6 crore
Shillong: Continuing its crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, the Meghalaya Police started the New Year with a triumphant catch by seizing heroin worth Rs 6 crore in Khliehriat.
The vigilance team of the East Jaintia Hills Police arrested a hardened inter-state drug smuggler on December 31 after a search operation with a high speed wish maintenance.
Lauding the efforts of Meghalaya Police, CM Conrad Sangma took to X and wrote, “Kudos to @lrbishnoiips and the entire @MeghalayaPolice for a triumphant start to 2024! Their remarkable effort led to the seizure of Heroin worth Rs. 6 Crores at Khliehriat under @ejhpolice from a hardcore interstate drug trafficker along with a swift desire car.Further investigation is on”.
The seizure of the heroin is a major victory for the Meghalaya police and will help to curb the flow of illegal drugs into the state. It is also a reminder of the serious problem of drug trafficking in India.
Sangma further added, “As we embark on this new year, our steadfast determination against drugs remains unshaken. Let’s forge ahead unitedly to realize the vision of a #DrugsFreeMeghalaya”.
