Abhishek Banerjee will visit Assam and oversee the organizational development of TMC.

Kolkata: TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee will visit Assam this week to monitor the party’s organizational development in the state.

The party had recently appointed Ripun Bora, who left the Congress last month to join the Mamata Banerjee-led camp, as the president of the Assam unit.
Last year, former Congress leader Sushmita Dev had turned to TMC from Silchar.

After the TMC’s landslide victory in the 2021 Bengal Assembly elections, party supremo Mamata Banerjee had given a clear call for an opposition alliance to oust the BJP from power at the Center.
TMC has been trying to set foot in Goa, Haryana, and Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya since last year.

The party had contested Assembly elections in Goa and city elections in Tripura.
