Itanagar:A search is on for two missing soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh. The Indian Army is conducting a massive search operation in the outskirts of Anjao district of Arunachal Pradesh to find the two soldiers who went missing on May 28, a defense spokesman said on Sunday.
Spokesman Lt. Col. Amrinder Singh Walia said in a statement that Naik Prakash Singh and Lance Naik Harinder Singh, who were posted at the front post, are believed to have accidentally fallen into the river.
He said that despite a quick and extensive search, including aerial reconnaissance and tracker dogs were suppressed in the operation, they could not be traced.
He added that search operations have been going on for the past two weeks.
A court of inquiry has been convened by the military to investigate the incident.
The spokesman said that the families of the two soldiers, who are residents of Uttarakhand, were being regularly updated on the situation.
