Manipur IRB official on election duty in Gujarat killed two colleagues

AHMEDABAD: In a shocking election-related incident from Gujarat, a Manipur IRB official posted on polling duty in the state shot dead two of his colleagues.

Two other officials of Manipur IRB were also injured in the firing incident.

The incident took place in Porbandar district of Gujarat on Saturday evening.

The two deceased officials of Manipur IRB have been identified as Havildar Thoiba Singh and Rifleman Kh Jiten Singh.
On the other hand, the accused has been identified as Constable S Inaocha.

The accused allegedly opened fire on his accomplices with an assault rifle after the clash, killing two on the spot and injuring two others.The injured Manipur IRB personnel have been identified as Constables Surajit and Rohit Kanta.

The condition of two injured officials of Manipur IRB is said to be critical.

He is undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Gujarat Police has arrested the accused Manipur IRB officials.

Polling for the Gujarat state assembly elections will be held in two phases in Porbandar district.

The first phase will be held on December 1 while the second phase will be held on December 5.
