
A banned fighter of KCP Noyon arrested after thriving demand letters
Imphal: A newly-recruited fighter of the banned Congressional-Communist Party Noyon who submitted demand letters to educational institutions was arrested with some incriminating documents and two-wheelers, police said on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Bishnupur District Police and 16 Assam Rifles launched an operation in Hiyangthang Bazaar on Tuesday and arrested a KCP Noyon fighter identified as Samom Davidson Meitei ( 28) was done as Son (L). S. Chaoba Meitei , resident of Langthabal Lep Makha Leikai, Imphal West District.
After initial interrogation, police said the arrested fighter confessed to joining the banned outfit under one Leishemba of KCP (Noyon) in November 2022.
He further disclosed that under Leishemba’s direction, he served financial demands at Nambol Higher Secondary School and Shree Radha Madhaba Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya on Monday.
Subsequently, he was arrested and handed over to Wangoi police station for further legal action, police added.
