A 24-hour bandh in Tripura sparked a partial response.

Agartala: The 24-hour bandh called by the opposition Congress in three of Tripura’s eight districts drew partial response on Monday.

About 300 bandh supporters were detained and some untoward incidents were reported in Unakoti, Dhalai and North Tripura districts.

The Congress called for a bandh in support of its 16-point demands, including cancellation of the Agnipath scheme, restoration of law and order situation in Tripura, punishment of those who attacked opposition party workers, unemployment. Offering mudra mortgages to young people, among others.
Around 300 Congress protesters along with local Congress leaders were detained during the bandh, police said.

Shops, markets and educational institutions remained closed in some areas of the three districts.

Two persons have been arrested for killing a woman and her son in Kailashahar of Ankoti district.
