In Arunachal’s Changlang, mob storms police station over girl’s murder

TENSOKIA: A mob of 100 people stormed the Kharsang police station in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on Wednesday night, demanding the extradition of two suspects in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old woman.

The mob later set fire to a police vehicle parked in the police station premises.

On March 7, a young woman went missing from the Chai Bagh area of ​​Injan village. His mutilated body was later found, after which police arrested two people on suspicion of involvement in the murder.

Highlighting the crime, Gambo said the victim’s body was found in a completely decomposed state. “Based on the leads from his cell phone CDR, we arrested a man who was using a mobile phone which used the victim’s SIM. He led the police team towards the man. The man who sold the cell phone to her, along with his accomplice, killed the girl. The two have been arrested. ”

The accused have been identified as 22-year-old Dinesh Mardi and 20-year-old Arun Kisku, both from Assam and used to work in a tea factory in Kharsang.

Gambo said the role of both the accused in the murder has been confirmed and the victim’s mobile phone has also been recovered from their possession.

“We are awaiting the post-mortem report to confirm whether this is a case of rape and murder.”

The elder sister of the victim had lodged a complaint of disappearance after which the police launched a search operation.
According to sources, the mob surrounded the police station and alleged that the girl was raped before being burnt alive.
