5th edition of Junior Boys National Boxing to begin in Arunachal

Itanagar: Itanagar’s Don Bosco College ground came alive with a vibrant cultural performance as the 5th edition of the Junior Boys National Boxing Championship kicked off here on Sunday.
Organized by the Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association (AABA) under the auspices of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) and organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the championship promises to showcase the exceptional boxing skills of talented young athletes. will be displayed. in every corner of the nation.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who officially inaugurated the championship, in his address expressed happiness at the phenomenal growth of sports in Arunachal Pradesh over the years.
He thanked the central government for setting up a center of excellence for sports development in the state.
Reflecting on the positive impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership on Indian sports, Khandu highlighted how Indian athletes have gained recognition at major global tournaments.
He further emphasized the state’s commitment to improve sports infrastructure and develop talented athletes in collaboration with various sports organizations including the Arunachal Olympic Association.
Appreciating the tireless efforts of the Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association (AABA) in promoting and developing boxing in the state, the Chief Minister acknowledged their invaluable contribution to the sport.
Furthermore, he expressed his confidence in the young boxers and urged them to give their best and represent the country with pride.
Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Mama Notting joined the Chief Minister in wishing all the participating boxers and coaches the best of luck.
BF Secretary General Himanta Kumar Kalita termed the event as historic considering its magnitude and the number of participants involved.

With an astounding participation of 367 talented boxers representing 35 states and union territories, the 5th Junior Boys National Boxing Championship is set to be a highly competitive tournament of epic proportions.
A total of 34 bouts were scheduled on the first day of the championship which will conclude on July 14.
