48 hours total shutdown in Manipur calls by Kuki students body

Imphal: The Kuki Students Organization (KSO), the apex student body of Kukis, has called for a 48-hour complete bandh in all Kuki-Zo-affected hill districts of Manipur from November 1 midnight.
Despite Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s assurance during his last visit to the border town to withdraw all state forces from Moreh within three days, protests against the deployment and additional deployment of Manipur Police commandos in the border town of Moreh continued.
That is why this shutdown has been called.
The KSO-GHQ also accused the Manipur government of forcibly deploying a convoy of 19 vehicles carrying Manipur police commandos and Arambai Tenggol to Moreh, adding fire to an already volatile situation that further provoked.
In a press statement, KSO-GHQ said the shutdown was “necessary to express strong displeasure against the violation of our constitutional rights and freedoms by the state government.”
The press statement also said that the bandh is being called for “immediate withdrawal of all state forces from Moreh and the bringing to justice of those responsible for the abuses.”
KSO-GHQ has appealed to the people of Manipur to support the bandh and cooperate with the organization to make it a success.
Media personnel and cases related to medical emergencies will only be exempted from the scope of the complete shutdown.
