
3rd Northeast India festival will begin Vietnam from October 27-29
Guwahati: The much-anticipated third edition of the North East India Festival (NEIF) will begin on September 23 at the iconic Park, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from October 27 to 29.
The three-day extravaganza promises an impressive line-up of events, with the inaugural program and dinner on the first day, followed by two days of cultural shows, exhibitions and B2B meetings.
The inaugural session of the fair will be hosted by Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City. The event will bring together stakeholders from both India and Vietnam, including the participation of various Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, and businessmen who will engage in discussions focused on bilateral trade and tourism.
The event will feature captivating cultural performances, presentations by both Indian and Vietnamese representatives, and speeches by top Vietnamese officials, followed by a sumptuous dinner.
A dedicated B2B meeting on tourism will be held under the chairmanship of Chanchal Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
The session will facilitate interaction between tour operators from Northeast India and their Vietnamese counterparts, expertly moderated by Anil Ora, Regional Director, India Tourism.
A B2B meeting on trade will be held under the chairmanship of Dr Geetima Das krishna, in-charge of Invest India in NER, showcasing the Northeast as an attractive destination for investment, tourism and bilateral trade.
Experienced investors will share insights during the session, which will be attended by prominent entrepreneurs from the Northeast and Vietnam. Additionally, the People-to-People Exchange Meeting will offer a platform for scholars, academics and historians from Northeast India to engage with their Vietnamese counterparts.

NEIF will host various exhibitions, including the “Incredible India Exhibition”, which will showcase the incredible places of India. A dedicated textile zone representing various northeastern states of India and a state-specific exhibition zone will highlight Act East policy, tea industry, tourism, and more.
The event’s entertainment line-up will feature a dazzling array of cultural performances, including colorful folk dances from North-East India, as well as top designers such as Sangamitra Phukan, Bidyut-Rakesh, Manjushree Saikia, Yan Ngoba, Hasina Kharbhih. A spectacular fashion show is also included.
These fashion showcases will feature models and famous showstoppers from Vietnam. The event will be filled with performances by top musical bands and artistes from both India and Vietnam, as well as delectable North East Indian cuisine.
The festival will also be marked by electrifying performances from the state of Nagaland, represented by TFMA (Task Force for Music and Arts), featuring The Fantastic Company (TFS), Bright Lights, Guitar prodigy Imnainla Jamir, Trance Effect, KL Pamei, and Meghalaya’s popular band, Summersalt. Additionally, artists from Assam including Baba will enthrall the audience with their electrifying performances.
