Guwahati: The Assam government will sponsor 25,000 pilgrims from the state to visit the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh this year.
This was announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing the state assembly on Monday (February 12).
The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was consecrated on January 22 in a ceremony presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The event was attended by thousands of VVIPs including politicians, cricketers, industrialists, spiritual leaders etc.
The temple was opened for Darshan by the general public on January 23.
Since the temple’s inauguration, more than a million devotees and pilgrims have visited the holy place to offer worship and seek the blessings of Lord Ram Lalla.
