Itanagar, Arunachal 25 new COVID cases . July 9 (PTI) The number of coyotes in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 64,648 on Saturday as 25 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said.
State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr. Lobsang Jampa said the death toll from the corona virus, however, remained unchanged at 296 as no new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
The SSO said the northeastern state, which has been free of code for the past few months, has seen a sharp rise in cases since July 1.
The highest number of new cases was recorded in Namsai district at 11, followed by Lohat (six) and Lower Debang Valley, West Coming and Chang Long, the official said.
There are now 125 active cases in Arunachal Pradesh, while so far 64,227 people have recovered from the disease, including one on Friday. Jumpa said that the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients was 99.35%.
The most active cases in Lohat district are 56, followed by West Coming (19) and Namsai (16).
Jampa added that the state has so far tested 12.76 lakh samples of the corona virus, including 137 on Friday and Arunachal 25 new COVID cases.
