
2 missing Meitei student, photos of assume bodies on social media
Imphal: Disturbing photographs depicting before and after the gruesome murder of two students who have been missing since July 6 have surfaced on social media.
After the heart-wrenching pictures went viral on social media, people were shocked.
In order to avoid any protests, protests or riots, the state government issued a late night press release regarding the brutal killing of the two students.
The release said that it has come to the notice of the state government that photographs of two students, Phijam Hemjit (20 years) and Hijam Linthoingambi (17 years), who have been missing since July 2023, have surfaced on social media.
It should be noted that this case has already been handed over to the CBI as per the wishes of the people of the state.
The state police, along with central security agencies, are actively investigating the case to determine the circumstances surrounding their disappearance and identify the culprits who killed the two students.
The security forces have also started a search operation to arrest the accused.
โIn response to this disturbing situation, the government has assured the public that immediate and decisive action will be taken against all those involved in the abduction and murder of Phijam Hemjit and Hijam Linthoingambi.
The government is determined to ensure that justice prevails and anyone found responsible for this heinous crime will be punished severely. The government encourages the public to exercise patience and let the authorities handle the investigationโ, it appealed.
It may be noted that the two students were missing since July 6. After the incident, a case was filed by the family and people from different sections of the society staged a protest demanding their safe release.
The families of both the victims also appealed to the media to hand over the students.
As part of the preliminary investigation, it has been revealed that the last mobile location of the dead boy Hemjit was found in Lamdan under Churachandpur district which is a Kuki dominated area.
