2 freedom fighters of Kuki Chin National army nabbed by Assam Rifles
Aizawl: The Lunglei Battalion of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the supervision of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) arrested two suspected freedom fighters of the Kuki Chin National Army (KCNA) at Hmunnuam village in Lawngtalai district on March 10 last.
The suspected freedom fighters, both Bangladeshi nationals, were allegedly attending a KCNA meeting in Bungtlang where plans were being made to smuggle arms from Bangladesh to Myanmar.
On his way back, he stopped at a place where Bangladeshi illegal immigrants have been resettled.
The Assam Rifles had specific intelligence about their movements and whereabouts and launched an operation that helped nab the suspects.
Although the two freedom fighters tried to run away when confronted, the Assam Rifles officer and jawan chased the suspected fighters and eventually nabbed them. The arrest of the suspected revolutionist will be a major blow to the nefarious activities of the alleged anti-national elements on our motherland and will play a vital role in maintaining peace and harmony in Mizoram.
