Guwahati: The flood situation in Assam’s Dhemaji district remains critical.
About 18,000 people are still affected by the floods in Assam’s Dhemaji district.
At least 48 villages in Assam’s Dhemaji district are under flood water.
Around 530.07 hectares of crops have been inundated by floodwaters in Assam’s Dhemaji.
Water levels of several rivers and tributaries of Brahmaputra river are rising in Assam’s Dhemaji.
As a result, many villages along the river have been submerged in flood water.
It is to be mentioned that Dhemaji district of Assam has been receiving heavy rain for the last two days.
The floodwaters of the Dikari River have inundated several villages including Jamuguri, Siyari, Uluwani, and Tatiguri and affected many villagers.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), around 30,000 people in six districts of the state continue to be affected by the floods.
The districts of Assam affected by the floods are: Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Charaideo, Jorhat, Karimganj, Kamrup and Biswanath subdivisions.
