15-yr-old ‘gang-raped’ in Assam

Guwahati: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five men at a hotel here, two of whom attacked her on the first occasion, police said on Friday.
According to Guwahati Assistant Commissioner of Police (Women’s Unit) Bhanita Nath, the accused lived in the girl’s neighborhood.
According to a complaint filed by the girl’s mother, two of the five offenders, who first sexually assaulted the girl on February 16 and videotaped the act, allegedly threatened to kill her if she did so. If you tell someone, they will leak the clip.
However, on February 19, the two men, promising to delete the video, asked him to see them again, this time at a hotel in Adalbari, Nath said.
He said five people then raped the teenage girl in a hotel room.
“The girl has undergone the necessary medical tests and is awaiting reports. In the meantime, we have launched an operation to nab the culprits,” Nath said.
He further said that the case has been registered under various provisions of Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
