KOHIMA: 15 Miss North East contestants, state winners and first runners-up from all the eight northeastern states descended on the state capital on Wednesday, and young beauty pageant contestants are now one step closer to bagging the coveted Miss Northeast crown.
One of the most prestigious pageants of Northeast India, Miss Northeast 2022 is an initiative of the Northeast Beauty Pageant Organization (NEBPO) and is presented by the Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN).
The contestants were given a warm welcome by BASN at Hotel Weaver and the excitement was evident on their faces. Each contestant will represent their respective states in the grand finale of Miss North East to be held on November 3 at the State Cultural Hall, Kohima.
Organizers said the contestants will undergo an eight-day grooming session before the grand finale.
During the grooming sessions, contestants will be briefed by renowned resource persons such as Theyiesinuo Keditsu (PhD), a poet, educator, author, educator, and advocate for the revival of indigenous Naga textiles. Supermodel Ketholeno Kense Vhienuo; Dr. Sagar J. Abichandani, renowned dentist and a renowned smile expert including Femina Miss India.
A charity event to support the children’s home will also be held outside the Kohima Post Office on October 29, apart from visits to various locations across the state.
