Ita Nagar: Archaeologists have unearthed the remains of an ancient settlement at Tarasso in Arunachal Pradesh’s Papum Pare district.
The remains of the ancient settlement were discovered by archaeologists after excavations and excavations in the forests of Ramghat under Tarasso Circle in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The remains of the settlement date back to the 13th century.
The discovery was made over an area of about 20 acres.
Archaeologists have unearthed a 226-meter-long fortification.
The fortifications were made of stone blocks, burnt bricks and stones and had a gate.
The gate, made of stone blocks, is rectangular in shape and hemispherical.
Some stone blocks have symbols resembling designs such as: bow and arrow and trident.
A broken Shiv Linga has also been found from this place.
Archaeological excavations were also carried out in and around Vyas Kund at Ramghat, where the remains of a stone staircase were discovered.
Archaeologists also excavated in the Balijan area and found the remains of a brick structure.
The discovery in Balijan revealed the remains of an ancient settlement.
Prehistoric tools and utensils have also been discovered at the site.
