Imphal: Bomb recovered near BJP office, A major tragedy was averted on Thursday after bomb disposal personnel of Manipur Police safely detonated a powerful IED in Imphal.

A suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was planted in front of the local BJP office in Manipur’s Imphal.

The office of BJP’s ward committee in Ward No. 16 of Manipur’s Singhajmi Assembly Constituency was hit by a bomb.

The weight of the bomb was about 4 kg.

Bomb disposal squad personnel of Manipur Police reached the spot and Bomb recovered near BJP office.

To ensure the safety of people, the entire area was cordoned off and vehicles were not allowed to enter or leave the area.

Manipur Police said that it is not yet known who was responsible for planting the bomb.
