107 fresh COVID-19 cases, 1 death in Mizoram
Aizawl: 107 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in Mizoram on Monday, 30 more than the previous day, bringing the number of victims to 2,26,886, a health official said.
The official said the death toll from COVID-19 had risen to 695 as an 88-year-old woman from Mamit district contracted the infection on Monday.
The official said the one-day positivity rate increased from 16.14 per cent to 35.79 per cent as 299 samples were tested and fresh cases were found.
There are now 700 active COVID-19 cases in Mizoram, while 2,25,491 people have recovered from the infection so far, including 68 on Sunday.
The recovery rate from COVID-19 is now 99.38% and the mortality rate is 0.30%.
The Northeastern state has so far tested more than 19.16 million samples of COVID-19.
As of Saturday, more than 8.44 million people had been vaccinated, according to state immunization officer Lalmuanawma Jongte.
