10 years celebrations of Dalmia Cement in Northeast

Guwahati: Dalmia Cement (India) Limited, a leading Indian cement company and a subsidiary of Dalmia Bharat Limited, has completed 10 years of successful leadership in the Northeast.

Over the last decade, Dalmia Cement has emerged as the market leader and the largest cement manufacturing company in the Northeast contributing to the growth of the region.
With two cement manufacturing and two cement grinding units, Dalmia Cement has the largest production capacity in the region at 4.4 MnT. The organization has helped create over 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities and positively impacted the lives of over 1 lakh people by enabling livelihoods and community development.

The region has been one of the fastest adapters of ‘green’ cement (100% blended cement), an eco-friendly alternative to ordinary Portland cement. Pursuing the ‘Grey to Green’ philosophy, Dalmia Cement has committed to be carbon negative by 2040.

Dalmia Cement has improved its installed non-fossil-based electricity generation by around 45% and improved overall net emissions by 18%, thereby contributing to the protection of precious ecosystems. The company has been involved in major infrastructure projects such as the Dhula–Sadiya Bridge, the Bogibeel Bridge, and many forward landing airstrips and roads in border areas for the Indian Air Force.

On the grand occasion of its 10th anniversary, Dalmia Cement organized its annual ‘Dalmia Young Achievers Award’ where 10 young talents selected from all the 7 states of North East were felicitated. They were selected based on their exceptional performance in the fields of sports, medical science, innovation, business and enterprise.

Dalmia Cement was launched in the Northeast on 12th January 2013 and every year, the YAA Award is announced and presented during the brand’s anniversary celebration on that day.
