10 Opposition MPs move stay over Manipur as Parliament meets

Imphal: 10 opposition MPs, including the Congress, demanded a debate on the Manipur violence as Parliament convenes for the monsoon session today.
The opposition slammed the Center after a two-month-old video surfaced online showing two women being paraded naked by a mob in Manipur.
In a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi-led government, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP of subverting democracy and the rule of law in the violence-hit northeastern state.
“Humanity has died in Manipur. The Modi government and the BJP have destroyed the delicate social fabric of the state and turned democracy and the rule of law into a mobocracy.”Narendra Modi ji, India will never forgive your silence,” the Congress leader tweeted.
A video that went viral on July 19 rocked the country, showing two women parading naked in Manipur.
Concerned over the gruesome violence against women in Manipur, many political leaders including Bollywood have condemned the incident and demanded strict punishment against the culprits.
