𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗺 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀

The villagers claimed that the disputed land, which connects to Assam’s Lakhimpur district through Harmoti town, has historically belonged to Arunachal Pradesh. They asserted that for decades, the local population has been engaged in cultivation on the land, thereby establishing their rightful ownership.

Alleging high-handedness by Assam forest personnel, the villagers said the officials have been obstructing their agricultural activities and attempting to intimidate locals despite the long-standing settlement of the area by Arunachal residents.

Community leaders have demanded immediate intervention from the Arunachal Pradesh government, urging it to take up the matter with Assam authorities to prevent further escalation.

The incident once again highlights the fragile peace along sections of the Assam–Arunachal border, where land disputes have frequently led to confrontations between residents and officials on either side.
