𝗔𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗝𝗣 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗴𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗮𝗵𝘂𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗵𝗶 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗠’𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

Led by the BJP Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha, party workers marched from Ganga Market to the Tennis Court at Indira Gandhi Park, burning effigies of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. A donkey replica labelled with Rahul Gandhi’s name was also displayed during the protest.

The BJP accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of using “extremely indecent and disrespectful language” against the Prime Minister during his ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ and allowing his party leaders to hurl abuses at Modi’s late mother. The incident reportedly occurred at Atarwel Chowk in Jale assembly constituency on Thursday, during the yatra’s passage from Darbhanga to Muzaffarpur.

BJP spokesperson Mutch Mithi, addressing the media, strongly condemned the remarks. “Shaming any mother, whether it is the Prime Minister’s or anyone else’s, will not be tolerated. In Arunachal, we give the highest respect to mothers and sisters, and we cannot bear the insult of any mother in the nation. The discrepancies in electoral rolls are a legacy of the Congress regime, and while we want to bring reforms and correct them, using derogatory words by Congress leaders is highly condemnable. Since 2014, Congress has been losing ground, their political space shrinking across the country, and this frustration is now showing in their behaviour,” he said.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu also criticised the Congress leadership, calling the remarks against Modi’s mother “highly irresponsible.” He added that the opposition party had failed to uphold the dignity of its role. “As the opposition, Congress carries a responsibility, but instead we are seeing indiscipline even in Parliament. This is not how a responsible opposition behaves,” Khandu said.
