The All Assam Minority Studentsโ€™ Union (AAMSU)ย  strongly condemned barbaric incident involving violence against minority Hindus in Bangladesh, calling the act inhuman and unacceptable. The National Studentsโ€™ Union of India (NSUI) staged a protest in Assamโ€™s Sribhumi district, raising slogans against the Yunus government in Bangladesh and expressing outrage over alleged atrocities against Hindus in the neighbouring country.

NSUI activists gathered in large numbers in front of the Sribhumi District Congress office, where they burned an effigy of Bangladesh leader Mohammad Yunus as a mark of protest. The demonstrators shouted slogans such as โ€œDown with the Yunus government, shame, shameโ€ and โ€œBangladesh murdabad,โ€ reflecting growing anger over the situation across the border.

AAMSU president Rezaul Karim Sarkar denounced the incident in strong terms and urged the Government of India to take strict action. He said India should pursue firm diplomatic measures against the Bangladesh government and, if required, consider stronger steps.

The condemnation came as AAMSU organised a protest at Balapara in Jogighopa under Bongaigaon district. During the protest, demonstrators raised slogans against the alleged persecution of minorities in Bangladesh, criticising the countryโ€™s interim leadership and warning against any adverse intent towards Northeast India.
